Search below or browse by topic. Search help articles... ## Getting Started - How to create a wishlist Click "New list", give it a name and an icon, and you're done. You can create as many lists as you like — for birthdays, holidays, weddings, or anything else. * Adding your first item Open your list and click "Add item". Paste a product URL to auto-fill the name, image, and price, or enter the details by hand. - Sharing your list Click "Share" on the list page to copy the link or send it to friends. Anyone with the link can view the list and reserve items, no account required. ## List Management - Privacy levels Each list can be Private (only you), Link (visible to anyone with the link), or Public (shown on your profile for everyone). Change it anytime in the list settings. * Password-protecting a list Add a password to any list from its settings to control who can open it. Visitors need the password to view the list, so you can share it more widely while keeping it private. - Collaborative lists Turn a list into a collab by inviting friends from the Share menu. Everyone invited can add and manage items together — great for shared events. * Customizing your list Make a list your own from its settings. Pick from a range of colors and decorative patterns to match the occasion, from birthdays to holidays. - Archiving and deleting Done with a list? Archive it to hide it without losing it, or delete it permanently. Both options live in the list settings menu. ## Adding Items - Adding from a URL Paste a link from almost any online store and Wishfox auto-fills the title, image, and price. Just review the details and save. * Adding manually No link? Add an item by hand with your own name, note, price, and image. Useful for experiences, gift cards, or anything not sold online. - Using the browser extension Install our free extension for Chrome, Firefox, or Edge to add items to your wishlist with one click while you browse any shop. ## AI Gift Ideas - How AI gift ideas work Wishfox reads the items already on your lists and builds a short summary of your taste, covering your interests, favorite brands, and usual price range. That summary, plus the occasion and budget you pick, goes to an AI that searches real shops. You get up to eight ideas, each with a reason and a link. * What is a taste profile? A few lines describing what you like, built from up to 100 of your most recent items across all your lists, private ones included. It uses only each item's title, note, price, link, and brand — never your name, your email, or your list names. Wishfox stores the summary, not the items behind it, and refreshes it when you add or change something. - What is shared with the AI? Your taste summary, a few recent item titles, your bio and profile links, any gift preferences you filled in, and the occasion, budget, and currency you chose. Nothing that identifies you is sent. No name, no email, no account ID, no list names. Only the finished ideas are saved to your history. The request itself is not kept. * Finding a gift for a friend You can generate ideas for anyone you are connected with. Their profile uses their public lists only. Private, link-only, password-protected, and archived lists are never touched. Their sizes, colors, and interests are included only if they chose to share them. Your private note about them is used too, since it usually says what they like. - Which AI does Wishfox use? Google Gemini, currently Gemini 3.5 Flash Lite, with Google Search switched on so it works from live shop pages instead of guessing from memory. We may switch models as they improve. * Are the links and prices real? We check them, but we can't guarantee them. A link has to be a page Google actually returned or a product from our own catalog. Anything the AI invents is dropped, so an idea can turn up without a buy link. We open the real page for the photo and to check stock, and sold-out ideas get replaced. Prices come from the search, not from the shop at that moment, so confirm before you buy. - How often can I generate ideas? Ten times a day. Each batch takes about a minute and is saved to your history, so you can come back to it instead of starting over. * My suggestions feel generic That happens when there is little to work from. Add a few items to your lists, fill in your bio and gift preferences, and set an occasion and a budget. The more the profile has, the closer the picks get. ## Reservations - How reservations work Anyone viewing your list can reserve an item to let others know it's taken. This helps avoid duplicate gifts. * Hidden from the owner Reservations are always hidden from the list owner, so the surprise stays intact. You'll never see who reserved what on your own list. - Reserving without an account Friends don't need an account to reserve an item — a link is enough. Signing in just makes it easier to keep track of reservations later. ## Groups - What groups are for A group gathers people around one occasion and keeps everyone's wishlists in one place. Pick an Event group to share lists for a birthday, Christmas or a wedding, or a Secret Santa if you want names drawn for a gift exchange. * Creating a group Click "New group", choose the type and the occasion, and give it a name. A date, a description and a cover photo are optional, and you can change any of it later. - Inviting people to an Event group Event groups are for your Wishfox friends, so add someone as a friend first, then invite them from the group page. Any member can invite, not just the organizer. * Running a Secret Santa Share the join code or the invite link and anyone can join with a name and email, no account needed. Guests come back through a magic link we send them. You need at least 3 people to draw, and drawing locks the group so nobody can join or leave afterwards. - Who sees the Secret Santa draw Only you see your own match, revealed privately when you're ready. Nobody can look up who is gifting whom, not even the organizer who started the draw. * Wishlists in a group You choose which of your own lists show up in a group and can change that anytime. Removing a list from a group, leaving, or deleting the group never touches the list itself. ## Account - Benefits of an account An account keeps all your lists in one place, makes your reservations easy to find, and lets you add friends to quickly see their wishlists. * Adding a list you made without an account Sign up in the same browser you used to make the list, and we'll add it to your new account automatically. Already have an account, or on another device? Click "Add the list to your account" in the email we sent when you made the list. Or sign in, open the list, choose "This is my wishlist" from the ⋯ menu, and enter the 6-character code from that email. Didn't enter an email when you made the list? Then signing up in that same browser is the only way to keep it. - Profile settings Update your name, avatar, email, password, and language anytime from the account settings page. * Deleting your account You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the account settings. This action is permanent. ## Troubleshooting - Can't see a list? If a list won't open, it may be set to Private or the link may have changed. Ask the owner to re-share it or set it to Link or Public. * Restoring a deleted item Deleted an item by mistake? Open the list menu and choose "Deleted items" to see recently removed items and restore any of them with one click. - Price tracking issues Price tracking depends on the shop's page. If a price looks wrong or isn't updating, the store may block automated reading — try re-adding the item from its URL. * Contact support Still stuck?
